Kyolic® Garlic is the only garlic supplement that is aged. This means:
Aged Garlic has active compounds that aren’t found in fresh garlic or other products that use fresh garlic extract or garlic powder. These include S-allyl cysteine (SAC), a water- soluble sulfur compound that is characteristic of Kyolic® Aged Garlic. SAC is easily absorbed by the body unlike the volatile oil- soluble compounds found in raw garlic.
The garlic used in Kyolic® products is organic and nutrient- rich. It is grown in strictly controlled conditions, without the use of chemical fertilisers, pesticides or herbicides.
Harvested at full maturity, the garlic goes through stringent tests. These ensure it conforms to specified quality standards, and ensures only the best quality garlic is used.
The garlic is sliced and stored and naturally aged without heat for up to 20 months. This converts unstable, reactive, harsh compounds (eg: allicin which can cause digestive irritation and allergic reactions) into mild, effective compounds. These compounds include sulphur- containing amino acids.
Kyolic® Aged Garlic can be taken preventatively, particularly in the cold and flu season. It is also beneficial in reducing the duration of an illness.
