Menopause
Menopause is a natural transition in a woman’s life signifying the end of menstruation and is often called the ‘change of life’. Menopause results from a natural decline in the level of two major hormones, oestrogen and progesterone, and usually affects women in their late 40’s and early 50’s.
Common symptoms develop as a result of lower oestrogen levels and can include hot flushes, headaches, night sweats, sleep disturbances, tiredness and the disruption to emotional wellbeing such as anxiety and nervous tension.
About 70% of all menopausal women experience some form of hot flushes1. Hot flushes are associated with a decrease in oestrogen levels and are often exacerbated during stress, fatigue, sleep disruptions or burn-out.
Many women choose natural ways to help manage the normal changes that occur during this time of their lives. These can include taking herbal medicines, nutritional supplements, improving relaxation and making lifestyle changes.
